Testing Services.
HYSIG offers high speed industrial computed tomography (FlashCT) testing services. FlashCT provides detailed non destructive cross sectional (slice) analysis in three dimensions. In addition to providing animated detailed slice information, FlashCT can provide 3D volume CT images or reverse engineering or internal tolerance analysis. Testing services provide access to FlashCT systems operated by highly qualified application engineers on an hourly basis. Our application staff have detailed knowledge of failure analysis and manufacturing technology and have worked extensively with a wide range of industries and materials. Custom Radiographic Scanning Software.
Our standard software for radiographic scanning (FlashCT DAQ) is flexible enough to run all CT systems we have ever produced, from small cabinets to giant gantries, and can be extended through simple configuration menus to drive very sophisticated motion and detector systems. Sometimes, however, that flexibility isn't enough. To improve our own product development cycle, the HYSIG engineering team has developed a software methodology built around powerful under-the-hood libraries (The FlashCT Toolbox and the DAQ Toolbox.) Just as our standard software products are built from these libraries, custom software can be rapidly developed and supported based on these in-house libraries. New functionality in our libraries are then rolled into our main library support, meaning custom development does not then result in custom support for a one-time use piece of software. The end result is custom, rapidly developed software that has the look, feel, and performance of monolithic single-purpose applications. Our software is written in C for Windows, and turnaround time for a new application can vary from a few days to several months, depending on the application. Since we are also the developers of the underlying toolbox, there is no limit to the functionality we can provide. We have written software for production CT scanning, system quality assurance, and a variety of other custom applications.
Custom Radiographic Scanning System Design
The FlashCT product line is designed to cover a wide range of objects to be scanned, but inevitably different objects or specific customer needs require custom scanning hardware development. The HYSIG system design philosophy easily accommodates this, and our team includes specialists in all aspects of system design which allows us to rapidly deliver a complete system with full support. Experts in radiography and computed tomography work with the customer to evaluate cabinet design, motion control systems, proper radiographic technique, detector selection, and computational requirements. We work with a wide variety of vendors for every aspect of our systems, allowing for a wide range of choice. We have designed gantries for radiographic applications up to 3 MeV and other systems for around the clock CT inspection. Our common software platform pulls the system together into a standard FlashCT interface for the user, so custom scanning hardware in many cases does not require custom software development.
Design of Test/Experiment Programs.
For industry partners HYSIG designs complete multi company research and/or test programs, in which HYSIG represents only one component unit. The additional expertise of HYTEC Engineering Inc. (HEI) personnel is especially helpful in this work. Recent investigations have included advanced detectors, high energy imaging, process control systems, and feed/speed rates for testing steel used in shipbuilding.

HYSIG develops specialized systems for government clients and also evaluates newly developed or discovered units manufactured by others.
